Have you ever noticed statements in farming conversations like "THEY don't care about farmers, THEY don't understand what it is like to make a living on the land, THEY don't realize the importance farming is to the economy, etc."? I have used "THEY" many times to describe an unseen foe who appeared to be anti agriculture. I have found myself wondering many times who "THEY" really are. Have you wondered the same?

Ron Arnold's book "Undue Influence" published in 1999 goes a long way to answer who THEY are. His research exposes the money trail and organizations that have an outright agenda of rural cleansing (ie. getting the rural people off the land). He has documented evidence of orchestrated efforts to destabilize rural economies. On page 170 he says, "To date, the most comprehensive coalition to appear on the scene is the Wildlands Project. This coalition is the most radical in purpose: to ‘re-wild’ America, that is, to gradually remove people and raw material production from the rural United States with no definitive stopping point."

The book is full of eye openning information and statements that reveal the biases of the people who work at rural cleansing. A speaker is quoted on page 94: "I don't give a damn if we're left with only one farmer as long as he farms without chemicals."

These rural cleansing groups are networked among themselves and are funded by charitable trusts and foundations with millions and billions of dollars at their disposal. A farm organization very familiar to all of us belongs to one of these coalitions. Read about this on page 77.
